Sea of Monsters Book Review

“You shall sail the iron ship with warriors of bone, you shall find what you seek and make it your own, but despair your life entombed within stone, and fail without friends, then fly home alone.”

What does the Oracle mean? Find out in the continuing saga of Percy Jackson and the Olympians! This book is all about finding the item that can save Camp Half-Blood and Percy’s brother, Tyson. But if Percy wants to save Tyson and the camp he must bring Tyson along on his quest. Find out what happens in this second book of the trilogy.

I think this book is tremendous! It has everything you can imagine like monsters that are amazingly described! The author’s descriptions help the readers to have pictures in their minds. For example, when Percy and his friends are looking for a shelter and they find an old one, it describes exactly how it looks and how big it is. Plus, this book stands out from every other book because it can by enjoyed by anyone.

This author’s style of writing is perfect! He has funny and interesting chapter titles, like “Demon Pigeons Attack” and “Clarisse Blows up Everything”. That makes you want to keep on reading because you wonder what will happen next!

I would like to read this book until I memorized it word for word. I think 2nd to 8th graders could enjoy this book because it has words a little kid could understand but has words an 8th grader would understand. I rate this book 5out of 5 stars because of its great vocabulary and descriptions.
