Oggie Cooder (Reviewed by Drew)

Oggie Cooder

By: Sarah Weeks

Do you have a weird talent that no one knows about? Well, in this book Oggie Cooder does. His talent is charving cheese. You do not have to be a cheese lover to read this book.

The genre of Oggie Cooder is realistic fiction. For example, it has many events that could happen in real life. This book is about a kid named Oggie Codder. He has a secret weird talent. He loves to charve cheese. He charves cheese into different shapes like Texas, Florida, and even Missouri. Oggis’ wish is to become a famous cheese charver. He has a great opportunity to be on a TV show called Hidden Talents. The prize for winning will make all of Oggies’ dreams come true. However, Donnica, his sneaky neighbor, has other plans for him. Will Oggie lose and go on with a normal life, or will he win it all?

I felt this book kept me interested. I found it hard to put down. I liked Sarah Week’s style of writing. But, I must admit it was an easy book to read for example, the author’s choice of words.

I recommend this book to third through fifth graders because it is not a violent book. Also third graders would be probably interested in this story. Well this book is awesome! So read it!
