Seekers Smoke Mountain (Reviewed by Bobby)

Four young bears have a quest to find the “last Great Wilderness.” The last great wilderness is a place where there is ice in the sea all year long, where there is endless prey, and no flat-faces. Along the way, the four bears have to overcome Black paths, fire beasts, flat-faces, death sticks, the Big River, starvation, and most of all... Smoke Mountain. Flat-faces are humans, fire beasts are cares and trucks, death sticks are guns, Black paths are roads, and Smoke Mountain is the Mackenzie Mountains. Toklo is a grizzly bear, Lusa is a black bear, and Kallik is a polar bear.

This book is fiction because bears talk and humans do not talk. Toklo, Lusa, Kallik, and Ujurak want to find the last great wilderness. But flat-faces hunt them down. So the bears run away from them.

One strength is that this book has lot of drama. For example, two out of four bears get a great taste death when the hunters shoot them. I felt like the drama kept me reading. Also this book has good descriptions. For example instead of mountain peak it is hazy mountain peak. That made me a great visuals. This book was a page turner. For example you read a chapter then it stops at a great part. That left me hanging. Another strength is that almost every chapter is a different bears thoughts. For example Lusa does a difficult thing then it is Kallik who does it and her thoughts. That gives me an idea of every bears thoughts.

I would recommend this book to ten years old and older because this book has violence, like blood. This book is a good read because this book is long and I love long books! Another reason this book is a read is that this book has main characters point of view in different chapters. For example it would be the same setting where it leaves off, but it would be a different bear’s thoughts. That’s why this book was a good read.
